MORE ABOUT THE WINES
CRAFT BOXED WINES
The prerogative of the loose drink is that of being an easy drink, to be consumed within a few months, which by definition does not require long maturation and which for this reason can very well keep its organoleptic characteristics intact without the need for corks. If once we went directly to the cellar from the producer, equipped with a demijohn, bottles or any other container, today the bag in box can shorten the distances between consumer and winemaker and give greater guarantees of conservation to the product. For most of us, loose wine is red par excellence: for the Piedmontese it is Barbera or Dolcetto, varieties that have always been used for the production of easier labels, compared to its majesty Nebbiolo. There is plenty to indulge in with bulk wine online from Piedmont, because it is a region with a well-rooted tradition, especially in less renowned areas such as Monferrato and Colli Tortonesi. For the Tuscans it is Sangiovese, it is Chianti in a straw flask, it is substance and pleasant acidity like that of Buondonno or Fattoria Pomona. If we move further south along the country we find Montepulciano, especially in Abruzzo and the Marche, characterized by round tannins and a beautiful fruity soul. However, let's not forget that bulk wine is often the result of a blend, both from native vines and from the most well-known international ones such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, capable of giving life to soft and smooth reds, very versatile and pleasant. It is perfectly at ease on the table, surrounded by mismatched plates and slightly chipped crockery, poured directly into the glass or decanted into ceramic jugs or glass bottles. Its noblest quality is that of accompanying the simplest food with sobriety, of providing easy refreshment during the lunch break and of igniting the most carefree conviviality during some reunion or meal in company. We don't look for combinations in this case, we look for sensorial peace, non-critical pleasantness, the taste that makes us feel good.
