I FORESTIERI
I Forestieri are Dario and Ezequiel, and their story is anything but conventional. One comes from Pisa, the other from Argentina, and they meet in the Maremma, where Ezequiel had already started recovering 70–80-year-old vineyards with one very clear idea in mind: making wine without shortcuts. No chemicals, neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar, just grapes and indigenous yeasts. What started almost as a game quickly turned into a mission: bringing abandoned old vineyards back to life and giving value again to a territory that was at risk of being forgotten. Romantic, but also very concrete
Nestled in the Alta Maremma, between Roccatederighi and Sassofortino, in the heart of the Parco delle Colline Metallifere, this is a wild and ever-changing landscape. Volcanic rocks, galestro and sandstone shape the soils, while the vineyards stretch between 200 and 600 meters above sea level, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and woodland. But the real beauty lies in the mixed vineyards: rows where Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Ciliegiolo and other native varieties grow side by side, just as they did in the past. Here, biodiversity isn’t a trend or a marketing claim, it’s simply the natural way of farming. And you can taste that richness and complexity in every glass.
I Forestieri make wine with no filters in every sense of the word. And that’s exactly our vision too: respect for the land, zero compromises, and plenty of substance. As Dario says: “Bulk wine is one of the oldest and most authentic forms of wine, a direct relationship between the producer and the person drinking it, without unnecessary packaging or speculation.” That’s exactly how we see it. When you meet people working this way, proving that quality has nothing to do with format, you simply want them on your side. That’s why I Forestieri are part of Sfusobuono
