Wines with low human impact, with a donkey on the label.
What we call the bag-in-box revolution has been 'normality' for years for Carussin, with exports all over the world. The idea of the Sfusobuono was born during the first lockdown, drinking a boxed 'Asinoi' Barbera from Carussin which was followed by numerous chats with Bruna.
Bruna is much more than a simple winemaker, she is a mother, an educator, a cook, an artisan: Bruna is a bit like everyone's home. She is the queen of the winery, together with Giorgia and obviously her grand-daughter Iris Freisa and with her husband Luigi Garberoglio and their sons Matteo and Luca, they live and interpret the farm at 360°. Here at Carussin, in San Marzano Oliveto, wine has always been made in a territorial and artisan way, starting from local grapes - such as Barbera, Dolcetto, Cortese, Carica l'Asino and Moscato -. They also produced beer, the Clan! Destino?, starting from organic barley grown in the nearby lands, and host events and didactic activities at the Agribar Grappolo vs Luppolo.
Carussin's vineyards, in the Valle Asinari, are wild, free and independent, the grass grows tall and the earth is rich in natural nourishment; we have to admit that the fact of having observed them in the saddle of a jeep dating back to the First World War, made everything even more suggestive and unique! The label you find on Carussin boxed wines show the historic donkey of the cellar, which came out in their bottles from the 90s.
