The expression of the natural winemaker in Puglia and beyond: Natalino del Prete and his idea of everyday wine.
Natalino del Prete is one of the undisputed fathers of natural wine in Italy, one of those solid winemakers who willingly keep their distance from passing fads and the spotlight of the wine world. If we were to describe the face of a natural wine producer, we would use Natalino's as an example: his blue eyes vibrate with life (and perhaps a bit of fatigue), his always tanned skin testifying, not to his holidays in Tenerife, but of the work between the rows, his kind and calm expression that tells of the strengths and weaknesses of daily work in contact with the earth.
The Natalino del Prete winery is located in San Donaci, in the Apulian hinterland between Brindisi and Lecce and has over time become a point of reference for artisan winemakers in the region and beyond. The vineyards are located a short distance from the cellar and the plants have been raised according to the principles of organic farming since 1994, which means that chemical fertilizers have been banned for over 30 years! The fermentations are all spontaneous and for the 'Rosso Quotidiano' in bag in box only steel containers are used with short macerations on the skins to give life to a leaner and less concentrated wine.
Today, together with Natalino, his daughter Mina carries on the reins of the family business, with a feisty, energetic and sincere attitude. Mina also supports her partner Antonio in a wine project that we have embraced from the beginning and that those who are fond of Sfusobuono have already been able to appreciate: Agricola Q and its rosé made from Negroamaro grapes.
