The red wine by Cascina Isabella - Athos is exactly that red that you would like to have in a bag in box. Very fresh and fruity, with an unmistakable spicy soul of black pepper; from vineyards at 450 meters above sea level on the highest hill of Murisengo. In the bottle it is a Grignolino and is called Montecastello, but a limited part ends up in the bag and here is the Sfusobuono.

The red wine from Cascina Isabella is produced by Gabriele Calvo, aka Athos in Monferrato. Athos represents the fifth generation of a family that has always made bulk wine. The project that is closest to his heart is the Grignolino one: βan agile and straightforward wine, without a senseless use of wood, perfect to drink immediately, but which is not afraid to bear the weight of timeβ.
Grignolino is like young people: nobody believes in them.
Red Wine by Cascina Isabella is to be drunk chilled when you need to replenish the lost mineral salts! Excellent with 'vitello tonnato' [veal in tuna sauce] or with one (two, three, ten) slice of salame; such as what Athos's mother offers you at Canonica di Corteranzo. A lovely place!
