Podere Anima Mundi
If we were in Bordeaux, the Marta's farm would be called Chateau and she would be a perfect lady, but we are in Tuscany, we drink Ciliegiolo in the garden and breathe a fraternity that for us is friendship.
Podere Anima Mundi is in Usigliano, in the hills of Lari, in the province of Pisa, isolated from the world, from the internet when it rains, from the supermarket if you miss the coarse salt to make pasta.
In this peaceful harem, Marta lives there with her 3 sons (!) and works there; she follows the biodynamic agricolture principles producing her 100% monovarietal wines, now very recognizable for taste and brand identity.
At Anima Mundi you can breathe international vibes: Marta is a bit 'Uglianese', a bit French and a bit (more) Polish. She has studied philosophy for years, has understood what the terroir is in the south of France and today makes biodynamic wines in Usigliano's hills, between Pisa and Livorno
Her small cellar is full of concrete tanks, with some Burgundy tonneaux and a few steel tanks, her vineyards are disheveled and full of vegetation, each harvest at Marta's home is an experiment, a research, a gamble which then inevitably convinces.
