Grechetto from Umbria is sustainably produced by Roccafiore, based in Todi, in the province of Perugia. This cellar is surrounded by 15 hectares of its own vineyard in a single body where the vines have been cultivated according to the principles of organic farming since the very beginning. Roccafiore has strongly invested in sustainability, making biodiversity its flag: in addition to the vineyard there are olive groves, orchards, legumes and arable land, as well as a small pigs.
Roccafiore was among the first wineries in Italy to adopt the photovoltaic option, with a system that saves emissions of about 90,000 kg of CO2 per year.
Grechetto by Roccafiore is an easy (but never dull!) and easy to drink white, thanks to its light, low-alcohol and pleasantly savoury taste. You can drink it as a summer aperitif or paired with fish appetizers, such as grilled bread, butter and Cantabrian anchovies, raw shrimps and octopus with potato salad and olives.
